Champion System – Stan’s NoTubes Announces 2015 Roster

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (January 12, 2015) – Champion System – Stan’s NoTubes officially announces its 2015 team roster. Champion System – Stan’s NoTubes is a domestic professional cycling team based in New York City. For 2015, the team’s focus will transition from criteriums to also include stage races and one-day road races on the National Race Calendar (NRC), as well as select international opportunities; the team will of course still have a significant focus on the National Criterium Calendar (NCC).

Headlining the team’s 13 man roster for 2015 will be James LaBerge, the reigning U23 Elite National Criterium Champion, as well as returning riders Isaac Howe and the Ginger Twins duo of Kevin and Conor Mullervy. Howe led the team in victories last year and finished 5th in the NCC, while Conor Mullery had a fantastic season with a win at the Old Pueblo Grand Prix, 4th at the US Pro Criterium Championships and 5th Overall at the Tour of Poyang Lake. In addition to these riders, the team has signed two very seasoned individuals that will strongly complement our program – Fabio Calabria, formerly of Team Novo Nordisk and Demis Aleman, formerly of Jamis - Hagens Berman.

Returning for a second year, the teams two co-title sponsors, Champion System and Stan’s NoTubes, are proud to continue their role in supporting the domestic pro peloton. Champion System, a worldwide leader in custom technical apparel, will supply complete training and racing apparel to the team, as well as test a variety of new products for feedback and product development. Stan’s NoTubes, a pioneer in the development of tubeless technology, will supply wheelsets to the team and extensively utilize the team for testing and product development.

About Champion System – Stan’s NoTubes

Champion System - Stan's NoTubes is a second year professional cycling team based in New York City that is owned and managed by 9W Sports Group LLC. The mission of our team is to develop athletes and provide a sustainable platform for both national and international exposure. The team started in 2012 as a development program in the Northeast and in 2014 moved to the professional ranks. During our first year, the team finished 3rd overall at USA Crits, achieved a podium at USA Elite National Championships and had numerous regional wins. In 2013 the team took a large step forwards, achieving numerous UCI/NRC podiums (Redlands, Tour of the Gila and Tour de Beauce) and a win at USA Crits (Athens Twilight). The team also finished 3rd overall in USA Crits and 4th overall in the NCC (top amateur team). 2014 marked our first year as a professional team and also represented a year of building. With a primary focus on criteriums, we won numerous large regional races and found the podium in many national races, but the big win eluded us. Some highlights from 2014 include multiple wins at the Longsjo Classic, 4th place at the US Pro Criterium Championships and 5th overall at the Tour of Poyang Lake. For 2015, we are very excited to go back to a similar format as 2013, with a focus on all aspects of road cycling, including stage races, one-day races and criteriums. As in 2014, we expect to have a vigorous race schedule that will take us all over the USA and also include several trips to Asia.
