This August the team hosted its second Morrison & Foerster event at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado. The Tour of California event in May had been a great success and the team was excited for another chance to meet with our sponsors. The weekend included an amazing ride in the Rocky Mountains led by Kevin Mullervy, dinner with NBC Sports commentator Bob Roll, and a VIP tent at the final stage in Denver. This event was also very special because former team member Matt Cooke won the King of the Mountains jersey after a hard fought week of racing. Matt was signed to the Jamis/Hagens Berman Pro Cycling Team in July after earning several podiums with our team. One lucky participant even won a signed KOM jersey from Matt.
The weather for the weekend was amazing, the terrain beautiful, and Bob Roll made sure to keep the pace high, especially on the descents! Riding with Bob Roll was an awesome experience for everyone and getting to hear his stories over dinner was even better. The next day in Denver the race was high paced and aggressive. The finish was a bit chaotic but Peter Sagan came through for his 4th win of the race and Tejay Van Garderen took the overall. A few of our guest were able to take photos with his yellow jersey, and Matt Cooke came by with his KOM jersey to take a few more. Overall the event could not have gone better and the team is happy to have these opportunities to host our sponsors and show them the spectacle of professional bike racing.
